iPage offers a wide range of services including small business hosting, domain registration, SSL certification, email hosting and more. You can learn more about this company and read my personal opinion on the iPage review page.

Recently, I received an email from someone who wanted to purchase the iPage Essential Plan and asked me the following question:

Does iPage offer free email for website or webmail hosting? Do you recommend using iPage to send business emails?

Yes, the webmail login iPage Essential Plan includes email hosting and free webmail access. Webmail has a very good response time and emails load fairly quickly. I personally recommend setting up a business email with iPage.

Should You Use iPage’s Webmail?

In my humble opinion, iPage is a good and inexpensive solution for emailing your small business.

You can set up multiple email accounts for your domain. That's great if you have employees. Your employees can have their own separate business email, which you can control via webmail.

iPage webmail is accessible from the control panel. Through webmail, you can access any email address hosted on your account. That's really nice if you want to take a look at your employees' e-mails.

iPage Webmail Clients

Most hosting providers allow you to access your webmail via a certain webmail client such as Roundcube, Horde, SquareMail or other.

At iPage, you can't choose your favorite webmail client, so you have to work with what you have. Their standard webmail client seems a bit outdated in terms of design and is not compatible with mobile phones. Accessing webmail from your phone can be difficult.
Update: I did some more research and found out that you can access your email through Roundcube at the following link: https://emailmg.ipage.com/roundcube/ - this webmail client is offered free with every hosting account.

The Roundcube webmail client has a more modern design and a little more functionality than the standard iPage webmail client. It also works very well on mobile phones.

IMAP or POP?

When you set up an email account for a client, you must decide which protocol to use to receive the email. You can choose between IMAP and POP3.

POP3 allows you to access your e-mail from a single device. Email clients will download and delete emails from the server and store it only on that single device or client.

IMAP allows you to access your email from multiple devices and will also leave the email on the server.

You should use POP3 if email storage is very limited, while IMAP is fine if you can store a lot of email on the server.

iPage & Gmail – Advanced Email Solution

For as little as $5/month, you can integrate your emails hosted on iPage with Google's G Suite. This service allows you to access your business emails from Gmail. You'll benefit from 30 GB of online storage, calendars, video meetings and all the enhanced business features offered by Gmail.

It's perfect for managing a team, sharing calendars, documents, forms and slides with your employees.

The best part is that you don't need to set up an email client on your device, you can access your business email from anywhere via a web browser.

It's extremely easy to integrate your iPage account with G Suite - it only takes a few minutes.

Potential Problems with Webmail or Email Client

I've been using iPage to send and receive an email for a long time. I've never had any problems with their email service. However, you may encounter some problems or errors such as :

The email server is down: Due to technical problems, emails sent may be queued on the iPage email server. Please wait a few minutes before sending your email again.
The email cannot be delivered: There may be several reasons for this error. The webspace allocated for email storage may be full. The attachment may be too large or the attachment extension is banned from the mail server. The email address to which you are trying to send your email may not exist. etc...
The maximum number of emails/hour: You cannot use iPage to send tons of emails for marketing purposes. You are allowed to receive an unlimited number of emails, but you can only send 500 per hour.

iPage email limitations

Although iPage does not limit the webspace for hosting your website, webmail has a limited storage capacity of 500MB or 10k messages. If you run out of space, you can upgrade to a larger storage space for your mailbox or to G Suite.

You can receive an unlimited number of emails per hour and day, but you can send up to 500 / hour or 5000 / day. Using iPage for email marketing or sending mass emails is not a good option.

In fact, sending mass emails can be considered spam and you can get banned from your account. Do not use it for spamming!

The limitation applies to the size of attachments as well as the number of email accounts. Via webmail, you are allowed to send attachments up to a maximum size of 20 MB. You can create up to 50 email accounts with the standard package.
